The Melissa Heckbert Campaign is in full swing.  We will be printing lawn signs, campaign brochures and sending letters to voters. In order to assist we are asking for financial donations (provincial law prevents candidates from funding the entire campaign themselves)

Only individuals are allowed to donate to municipal campaigns. (no unions no corporations etc...)

The maximum allowable donation is $1,200 per person. Yes, mom, dad and adult children can each donate.

Residents of Whitby are eligible for a cash rebate for donations based on the amount.

for examplae a donation of $100 entitle you to a $75 rebate...  donations above $100 are eligible for a marginal 25% rebate for the amount over $100, plus the initial $75.

 

EXAMPLE:

 

Donate $100 net cost to you = $25.

Donate $200 net cost to you is = $100

Melissa's campaign gets to use the full donation amount.
